Veterans of Interplanetary Wars

First

Now that I got that out of the way, we can move on to Day 2 of the MADNESS. Really today was the first day of work. Lets see if I can sum it up in one word, LIES. So I should have been shooting today, but instead I was doing stage tech crap setting up video consoles, remote consoles, and sound stuff. I'm not a theater guy, used to be, but not anymore. I don't want to do it. I'm a web/designer/Film guy. Not let me go run your wires and screw shit in guy. My Father in is Dad wisdom says I shouldn't let one crap day of work get me. I agree (/agree) with Him (LostHorizon agrees with Dad). Oh I really want to keep talking in emotes, but you'd all kill me. Anyways, work is supposed to suck, hence the work bit. I'm just upset because I'm away from my loved ones and friends and I'm doing stuff I never wanted to do. Any one of those things I could take by themselves, together its just about too much to take. Of course I'm going to stick with it but next year maybe very different. Could have been worse, I could of been fighting the Covenant. Wait that sounds awesome.

Here is a quick and dirty Panaramic shot of the House of the theater, rather interesting locale really.

Domo-kun lucked out and slept all day. Lucky bastard. Check back in a few and I Should have some more interesting pics of today up in my Epson album and here. Until later.

Director's Cut: Day 2 Photo album is here.

Bleach by the gallon

Holy crap Bleach is good, not like "oh my this is good" good, more like I HAVE ASCENDED TO A NEW LEVEL OF BEING GOOD. Not since the Kyoto ark of Kenshin have I enjoyed every page of a manga. Really. Tite Kubo, you sir are awesome. I popped out some panels of one of my favorite fights, Howl Zabimaru! Roar Zangetsu! Kubo's style has really evolved into something amazing and iconic.

Work is still strange, I have no idea what is going. They give me work I finish it in seconds (almost, really!) and then I'm not sure what they think. Should I make it seem like it takes longer? That seems so wrong, but why should I work more just because I'm quicker? Salary work is tough. Enough of real world crap, I'm going to go train so I can achieve Bankai!

Work is wierd...

I wonder while I sit amongst my various projects, if that when work was first conceived if it felt pretty much as it does now? I believe I'm focused here on the wrong angle of work, what I meant to say is the concept of employment. Did the first caveman that worked for another caveman like is job? Did he get paid in rocks? Did he have casual fridays? I wonder how many people really enjoy there job? I must be having second thoughts about leaving the employ of the Disney. I always thought I was going to be a lifer, but in the end I needed money and not to be managed by a bunch of suck up ass hats. It was the right choice to make, my new job is with a good company that does good works and is run by smart people. This is the perks of working for a small business with global aspirations. I must be having trouble dealing with not working for a house hold name or maybe that for my entire childhood all I wanted to do was work for Disney. While my peers wanted to be firemen and doctors I wanted to work at Horizons. Thats it, the root of why I feel apprehensive about my new employ. Its tough when your dream is to work a dead end, next to nothing pay job at a theme park attraction that doesn't exist. I know what your thinking "Why not become an imagineer?" Firstly, I don't have the capital to be able to do 6 years in school for a job that can be laid off at anytime and secondly they barely ever hire Imagineers now. The biggest "if only" is "If only Disney treated there cast members better, instead of treating them like disposable robots." Aye, thats the rub! I wanted to work for them but I feel like they wouldn't let me. Hopefully I'll be able to work for Disney again, with a real job with real hours, and real pay. I'm not going to hold my breath. Thats more than enough of that rant. Just thinking about it gets me all depressed.

On a lighter note, picked up Mushishi volume 2 (anime) last night. I haven't gotten a chance to read volume 2 of the manga, so I'm looking forward to seeing something brand new. Still no Eureka or Haruhi. Grr. Also no Halo actionclixs or Jam Sessions. I was able to get Fry and Zoidberg last night which was bonus. Fry comes with a bunch of accessories, a holophoner, a awesome raygun thing, some sardines, and a can of Slurm! His articulation is also more than I expected, all in all a good figure. Zoidberg so far is the best looking figure, I just wish he would have come with more accessories than just his stethoscope. I would have like to seen him come with the box that contains Universe A, a head fin so you could make him look its mating season, a his cardboard business card. Universe A Zoidberg and regular Zoidberg look great together. Each figure comes with a piece of the Robot Devil which is going to make an awesome figure, must collect them all! Well I think thats enough jibber jabber for today (Foo!).

"Beginings are delicate times."

Ah Dune, you've always got the perfect quote for everything that may come up. I always thought Duncan Idaho kicked so much ass, I always wanted his job. Well maybe not his job in God Emperor of Dune but sometimes I thought it was so appealing. Speaking of jobs I started my new job offically today! Madness! There is that saying "The cart can't come before the horse" or some such, well thats about what happened today. I am the IT guy without any IT! Really! Show up to work expecting to do some organizing and networking and guess what? No damn machine! Some backstory for your reading pleasure, Friday the 21st I fly out to Dallas to help put on there big show (really really big shoe). So they pack up and send out all of there machines for the show. Riddle me this Batman! Why do you need 2 G5s and 2 PCs? Tune in to find out! So now I'm presented with a hell of a condrum, Do I go in to work to do nothing or do stay home and work and actually get stuff done? I know what I want do. I've never been one to have my time wasted.

Now for real news, Halo ActionClix hit the streets today (w00t). I'm looking foward to some of that. Bad news in the world of releases is that they are messing around with Jam Sessions release date which blows, I want me some Jam Sessions now! As for anime releases go the last disk of Haruhi should be out as well as Eureka volume 9, but alas our search has been in vain.

Watched Naruto: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow yesterday-ish. I enjoyed it. Naruto is the prime example of fast food anime, when you need an awesome ninja battle and some bad ass technique names poof its there for you, but your really don't get much back. I love me some secret techniques!
